Hearty Scottish Breakfast

We found a very cute little gourmet shop that had a cafe upstairs for breakfast on Sunday. We got A to try the black pudding which came with the breakfast and was way better than the black pudding we tried in Leith in October. She wasn't impressed. While we were sitting there waiting for our food a serious backpacker came in with enough gear on her back that it looked as though she might topple over any second. I said to A, "See, we could make you vacation like that". She got this horrified look on her face and said, "No!". It was the same reaction I got when I told her that since we couldn't find a place to stay in Scotland her dad was suggesting camping.

So what was on my plate? Toast, egg, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, venison sausage, a sweet oatmeal concoction, and a potato scone. I think of scones like an American biscuit but potato scones, at least the ones they serve the tourists are flat and almost look like a griddle cake.
