Snarky

Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines snarky as sarcastic, impertinent, or irreverent in tone or manner. Snarky is very common here, especially in the media. H mentioned that the Super Bowl was today and I looked in the newspaper tv guide to see what time and what channel it would be on here, and here is the description in the The Guardian tv guide:

Superbowl XLIII
11pm, BBC1

It always seems an odd time of year to stage a major sporting spectacle, but there you go. This year’s “Superbowl XLIIII” takes place in the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and is as ever what many would regard as an over-rich mix of sports and entertainment, with Bruce Springsteen doing the half-time honours this year as Pittsburgh take on Arizona. Jake Humphrey presents.

I mean seriously, can we just stick to the facts? Hahahaha
