The locals say that Queensland is really where you go to the beach in Australia, but it is all relative. We headed to St. Kilda Beach by Melbourne last Sunday with what seemed like half of the population of Melbourne. We laughed that the experience reminded us of being smashed up against strangers on the London Underground, but the fact that it was 35 degrees Celsius meant there was more sweat and less clothing. We didn’t bring bathing suits, we just walked the boardwalk and out the pier and then the rest of the day, we moved from café to café having cool soft drinks, nibbling on food, and talking about work. As we walked back towards the tram stop and the sun was setting, the water out in front of us seemed to glow a beautiful aquamarine. I tried to take a picture but because of the lighting, it did not at all do the water justice.
St. Kilda is hosting the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. It's a madhouse!
