Do You Really Want to Know?

When in Australia, inevitably you will get in a conversation about the deadly snakes and spiders that live on this continent. We got to talking about them the other day in the office and they started telling me about some of the non-poisonous pests. Many of them talked about having huntsman spiders in their houses which are very large and furry, but not poisonous. The good thing (how could there be a good thing?) is that they eat cockroaches. They are so large, that this person in the office said that they “watch you” from a distance. I realized as they were telling me this story that as I was sitting in a chair, I had somehow curled into a fetal position with my knees in my chest and my arms wrapped around them, afraid to put my feet on the ground. They all laughed. I think I would die if I saw one of them.
