Last Trip North

I made a quick trip up to Northwest Indiana this weekend. It was quick because A. had an activity Friday night and then my friend J is arriving Monday morning so it was up Saturday and back Sunday. I don’t think emotionally I could have taken more than that. I had a great visit with my four nephews, a sleepover with Mel, and a nice gathering Sunday with both my brother’s families and friends. I had planned to leave at 6pm last night and when that time got close I got antsy because I wanted to avoid the inevitable. It was hard saying goodbye. As I headed down the interstate to St. Louis, rain began to fall harder than I have ever experienced. White-knuckle driving became a nice diversion from sadness.
