There’s a lot of this happening at the sinks of England

So what do you do when you have two water faucets, sometimes quite a distance away from each other and you are trying to wash your hands? I turn them both on and move my hands quickly from one faucet to another, not staying at either for too long. Of course I only do this if I am alone at work at the sink in the bathroom. If there is someone there I just use the hot and leave with second degree burns.

Oh my gosh! When I was in England for a semester, my roommate and I had long discussions about this very topic! Some of the guys would fill the sink up and use that water -- we thought that was a little gross, but I guess if the sink is clean....Anyway, I ended up doing just what you describe here, but on cold mornings it was tough!

Faucets ? Taps, dear. A lot depends upon the time it takes for the hot water to reach the tap. For example, if it is a combi boiler then it may take a while before the hot water arrives which means that you have enough time to wash your hands. Otherwise, what better than filling the sink a little, to the right temperature, and bathing your hands in style ?
